Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday apprehended an officer in the collectorate of Nuapada district while accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.
The Vigilance had received a complaint that Narendra Kumar Chandrakar, OSD, Revenue Section in Nuapada collectorate was demanding Rs 46,000 as bribe for processing settlement revision file of his spouse and issuing ROR (land patta) in her favor from the tehsil office at Komna in the district.
Following the complaint, the Vigilance set up a trap and caught Chandrakar red-handed while he was accepting Rs 30,000 as first instalment of the bribe from the complainant.
Following the trap, the Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous searches at two locations of Chandrakar’s properties from DA angle.
Koraput Vigilance has registered a case under PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 in this connection and further investigation is on.
