Bhubaneswar: Vigilance officials on Friday nabbed an under secretary of Odisha government while accepting bribe of Rs 30,000 in Bhubaneswar.
Following a complaint from the owner of a computer firm that Poorna Chandra Sahoo, under secretary, Planning and Convergence department was demanding a bribe of Rs 30,000 towards release of bill for supply of 10 computers (Rs 3,000 per computer), the Vigilance officials laid a trap.
As per their plan, Sahoo was apprehended while accepting the bribe money from the complainant. The entire bribe amount has been recovered from Sahoo and seized.
Bhubaneswar Vigilance has registered a case under PC Amendment Act, 2018 in this connection. Further investigation is on.
