Nuapada: Vigilance apprehended a veterinarian for taking bribe in Odisha’s Nuapada on Saturday evening.
Following a complaint that Dr Bibhu Prada Dhal, veterinary assistant surgeon of Veterinary Dispensary at Sinapalli in the district was demanding Rs 20,000 as bribe for release of two months’ hire charges of vehicle engaged for official purpose from the complainant, the Vigilance laid a trap.
As per the plan the complainant went to give the bribe to Dr Dhal. While the veterinary doctor was accepting it, the Vigilance officials caught him red-handed. They recovered the entire bribe amount from possession of Dr Dhal and seized it.
Following the trap, the Vigilance was carrying out simultaneous searches on the properties of Dr Dhal at 2 locations from DA angle.
Koraput Vigilance has registered a case in this connection under PC Amendment Act, 2018. Further investigation is on against Dr Dhal.
