Bhadrak: The Vigilance conducted simultaneous raids on the property of former senior clerk-cum-cashier, Tihidi block of Bhadrak district following allegation of misappropriation of government funds to the tune of Rs 20.25 lakh.
It has been alleged that the former senior clerk-cum-cashier, Pravakar Pradhan, had misappropriated funds belonging to 34 IAY beneficiaries of Tihidi block by transferring the money to SB accounts of his wife Nitu Pradhan, mother Punimani Pradhan and two other relatives, during 2016-17 and 2017-18.
Pravak, Nitu and his friend Ranjan Kumar Sahani have been detained. Further investigation is on.
Balasore Vigilance comprising 2 DSPs, 5 Inspectors and other staff are conducting the raids at 5 places in Bhadrak and Balasore district. More details are awaited.
