Nayagarh: Odisha Vigilance officials on Saturday carried out simultaneous searches on the properties of Assistant Civil Supplies Officer of Nayagarh, Jayant Kumar Das. He was found in possession of assets worth Rs 2.31 crore during the raid on Saturday.
Vigilance conducted the raid following allegations of possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income.
The Vigilance searched Das’s four-storey building at Lenkudipada, two double-storey buildings at Gandhisahi lane in Odagaon and a house at his native village Biruda. His office room was also searched.
The property of Das recovered by the Vigilance include 9 plots (1 at Bhubaneswar and 8 in Nayagarh), 1 four-wheeler, 3 two-wheelers, bank and postal deposits over Rs 9.30 lakh, insurance deposits of over Rs 8.64 lakh, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 4.92 lakh, cash R 2.74 lakh and other movable and immovable property, stated a release by the Vigilance.
