Vigilance raid on Rayagada teacher’s house, Rs 1cr assets seized

Rayagada: A five-member team of vigilance department on Saturday raided the house of a primary school teacher at Raniguda in Rayagada district in connection with a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case.

Following allegations that the teacher of Taralabadi Primary School, Gadadhar Sahoo, has amassed properties disproportionate to his known sources of income, the vigilance sleuths carried out a raid on his house and seized assets to the tune of Rs 1 crore. They also verified several vital documents, including bank passbooks and official papers.
