Bhubaneswar: As a part of its ongoing drive to check corruption in rural housing schemes in the state, the vigilance directorate registered two criminal cases over misappropriation of funds under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana.
The anti-corruption wing registered a total six criminal cases in connection with corruption in housing schemes on Monday and started investigation. As many as 124 such cases are pending with the vigilance directorate, an official informed.
On the other hand, a team of vigilance officials also raided Chendipada block office in Angul district and verified several important documents, besides questioning the officials. The move came following frequent allegations from various sources about irregularities in different works.
