Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ To Be Released Uncut Overseas, Censored Version Set For India

Hyderabad: Vijay’s much-awaited film ‘Jana Nayagan’ is finally set to hit theatres on July 24 after a seven-month delay.

While the H Vinoth directorial received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India following several cuts and modifications, audiences in the UK will get to watch the film in its original, uncut version.

Ahimsa Entertainment, the film’s distributor in the UK, revealed that ‘Jana Nayagan’ has been rated 15+ with no modification or cut.

“THE HONOURABLE CHIEF MINISTER OF TAMIL NADU. C JOSEPH VIJAY #JanaNayagan in UK cinemas July 24 — uncut, 15-rated. All the action, all the mass, all the Thalapathy craze, exactly as it was meant to be seen. One last time,” wrote the distributor while making the announcement on X.

Fans quickly noticed the phrases “uncut” and “as it was meant to be seen” in the announcement and flooded the comments section with celebratory GIFs of Vijay cheering and raising his fist.

Many others expressed hope that they would also get to watch the uncut version, if not in theatres, then on OTT after its theatrical run.

KVN Productions confirmed that the film was certified ‘A’.
