Koraput: Much to the embarrassment of the Odisha government, people of Phagunaseneri village under Kotia Panchayat in Koraput district have decided to boycott the ensuing panchayat polls.
Talking to the media at the block office in Salur in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, Sodhapeli Bishu, a villager, made it clear that they will stay with the Andhra Pradesh government.
He further said that compared to the assistance provided to the villagers from the Andhra Pradesh government, the Odisha government has done nothing for them.
Expressing grave concern over the issue, state vice-president of Utkal Sammilani Binod Mohapatra and Pottangi Block president Sarat Kumar Dhal said that the state government much take up this incident seriously and do the needful at the earliest.
