Balasore: A teacher allegedly came to school drunk, danced and abused students and guardians before falling asleep at Totapada primary school under Jaleswar block of Odisha’s Balasore district on Wednesday.
Sources said Muchiram Mandi, the headmaster of the school, has landed in trouble after local people drew attention of officials of the block administration towards his routine drunken antics.
Residents of Totapada alleged that the teacher comes to school drunk everyday even though they have been opposing his misconduct. “Muchiram Mandi is always found in drunken state. He falls asleep instead of teaching children. He also misbehaves with kids and guardians and dances at will. He also did the same on Wednesday,” a villager alleged. Villagers have long been demanding transfer of the teacher.
On being intimated about the teacher, the additional bock education officer (ABEO) of Jaleswar visited the school and assured that he would apprise the higher authorities about the errant teacher.
