Sambalpur: In a unique celebration of ‘Raksha Bandhan’, the people of several villages in Odisha’s Sambalpur district tied ‘rakhi’ to trees and took resolution to protect them.
The women members of Vana Suraksha Samiti (VSS) at Bindupur under Nakatideula block, led by sarpanch of Jamujori panchayat Reena Bisi, tied rakhis to trees in Rairakhol forest range of the district.
Besides the VSS members, women of different villages under the panchayat and volunteers of NGOs involved in environmental activities participated in the programme.
