Violence Mars Holi Celebration As Youth Gets Injured In Armed Attack In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Holi celebration was marred by violence as a youth was critically in an armed attack in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

As per reports, the victim, identified as T Raju of Sikharchandi under Infocity police station in the city, had a heated argument with another youth of the area over some issue around two months back. But the dispute between the two was resolved with intervention of the local people.

On the day, Raju was moving in the locality to play Holi when he was confronted by the accused who was in an inebriated condition. Raking up the old issue, the accused attacked Raju with a hammer and an iron rod. Raju sustained critical injuries in the attack.

On being informed by the locals, a team from Infocity police station rushed to the spot and admitted profusely bleeding Raju in Capital Hospital. Later, he was shifted to a private hospital in the city as his condition deteriorated.

The police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to trace the accused who is absconding.
