Bhubaneswar: Mystery behind death of a gym trainer at Bhakarasahi village under Balipatna police limits in Odisha’s Khurda district has deepened with his family allegedly cremating the body in a hurry without informing police.
The youth, identified as Rashmi Ranjan Biswal, was found dead on Friday morning, hours after he posted a video alleging a threat to his life from some of his family members – Satya Narayan Biswal, Smrutiranjan Biswal and Swarnalata Sahu, a private bank employee. “My end is eminent which is why I made this video. A probe should be conduct to ascertain the reason behind my death and the culprits should be punished,” he added.
His family members, however, claimed that hanged himself using a towel and cremated him without the mandatory postmortem in suicide cases.
Meanwhile, a police team lead by ACP (Zone 4) S N Muduli and Balipatna police station IIC Om Prakash Mohanty visited his house and questioned some family members. Rashmi’s father and brother, whom he named in the video, are reportedly, absconding.
