New Delhi: India cricket skipper Virat Kohli has been ranked among the richest sportspersons in the world, according to Forbes. Virat, the only Indian to be featured in the list, ranks 83rd in the list which is topped by American boxing champion Floyd Mayweather.

Virat has a total earnings of 24 million dollars in the last one year including four million dollars through salary and rest through brand endorsements. Mayweather, on the other hand, has a total earning of 285 million dollars.

Virat is among just five players who have received A+ contracts from the Board of Cricket Control in India.

Meanwhile, Virat’s wax statue was also unveiled at Madame Tussauds in New Delhi. The 28-year old is seen in a batting pose, wearing an Indian jersey.

However, no women sportsperson feature in the top-100 list released by Forbes. Though Li Na, Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams are regulars, Li Na dropped out of the list after retiring in 2014. Sharapova is dealing with suspension for consuming banned substance. Serena Williams’ prize money has dropped after she gave birth to her daughter last year.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo slipped a place to the third spot with 108 milion dollars, behind Lionel Messi (111 million dollars).
