Visibility Reduced To 100 Metre For Fog In This Odisha Town

Bhubaneswar: In an indication of initial phase of winter, a thick blanket of fog covered most parts of western Odisha on Thursday morning.

In a tweet, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar stated that heavy fog was witnessed in several places of Balangir, Kandhamal and Kalahandi districts. As a result, normal life was affected till 10 am.

The density of fog was maximum in Balangir. Due to the thick fog, visibility was reduced to 100 metre in the district headquarters town which is claimed to be a record in recent times.

In Kalahandi and Kandhamal, fog in medium scale was observed till late in the morning. The visibility was reduced to 250 metre in Phulbani of Kandhamal, while it was 2oo metre in Bhawanipatna of Kalahandi, the IMD stated.
