Khurda: A goat trader was seriously injured after unidentified miscreants hurled bombs at a pick-up van in which he was travelling near Godiapali Chhack in Khurda on Saturday.
The victim was rushed to Khurda hospital for treatment after he sustained injuries on his head and face.
“The incident took place around 5:40 am when the trader, hailing from Vizag. was on his way to Gania market of Nayagarh district to purchase goat, along with three others. Two motorcycle-borne miscreants intercepted their vehicle near Godiapali Chhack and hurled two bombs on their vehicle with a suspected attempt of loot”, Begunia inspector-in-charge Sarat Chandra Patra said.
The vehicle was partially damaged in the bomb blast. However, no cash or any other valuable has been looted from the traders, Patra added.
