Bhubaneswar: Irate voters went home without voting in some booths of south Odisha districts on Thursday because of inordinate delay in the repair of electronic voting machines (EVMs).
In Rayagada district, people had turned up in large numbers at the Godibali UP School in Kashipur block early in the morning to exercise their franchise. But there was a problem with the EVM that could not be repaired even after two hours. Angry at the delay, the people returned home without voting.
Similar incidents were reported in booth no-65 at Bajigarh Ashram School and booth no-71 at Kharsapada UP school in Lamtaput block of Koraput district.
