Sambalpur: The body of an engineering student of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) was found under a bridge in Odisha’s Sambalpur district under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday.
The student, identified as Anjaneya Das from Jajpur, was a final year Mechanical Engineering student at VSSUT, Burla. He was staying in Pulastya hostel on campus. His family has been informed about the incident.
As per preliminary information, Anjaneya’s body with multiple injury marks was found lying under the PC Bridge in the city.
After receiving information, a police team visited the spot and rushed him to Burla hospital but doctors declared him brought dead.
While the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained, police said the postmortem report will provide a clear picture about the incident.
An investigation has been launched and a team of forensic experts also visited the site as part of the probe, a senior police official said.
All possible angles are being examined to ascertain if it was an accident or there was foul play.
