Bhubaneswar: A major mishap was averted near Kesinga railway station in Odisha’s Kalahandi district after wagons of a goods train got detached on Wednesday.
According to sources, several wagons of the goods train carrying aluminium from Damanjodi to Angul got separated from the middle when the train was crossing the station. The engineless section of the train ran on the track for around 30 metres after getting detached.
On realising that the wagons had detached, the loco pilots immediately halted the train and informed Railway authorities.
The officials of the railways department along with technicians have reached the spot.
