Bhubaneswar: Police Commissioner Sudhansu Sarangi on Monday said that ID cards and vehicle passes issued to the citizens to support their professional obligations cannot be used for personal works like buying vegetables and groceries during the COVID-19 lockdown.
“Please walk down to the nearby shop like every other individual. All are equal,” he tweeted.
Sarangi was responding to a denizen who had complained about being held at Laxmi Nagar police station.
Earlier, the Police Commissioner had said that all tyre repair shops near petrol pumps can remain open to attend to emergency vehicles and motorcycles.
