Yes, there is one in Bargarh district, called the Jaring Bazar, where pet animals and birds are available. One can check it out in YouTube Channel E-Farming Odisha.
Jaring Bazar is situated at Jaring village, 12 km from Barpali area in Bargarh.
Besides vegetables, you can purchase cows, goats, sheep, hens, ducks, etc.
The haat operates only on Tuesdays.
One of the sellers informed that the price of a duck, weighing about 1 kg, is Rs 150. He brings about 300 ducks to in the haat, which people buy to keep at home.
The price varies, depending on the breed and size. Another seller had 10 ducks, which he was offering at Rs 800 each.
The price of sheep ranges from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000. Hudreds of sheep are available in the haat.
Goat is also available in numbers, though it is costly — around Rs 10,000 each. As sellers pointed out, weight of the goats determine the selling price.
Most of the sellers breed goats, sheep, hens and ducks in their farms. Once they are sellable, farmers take them to the weekly haat to earn a good profit.
