Wanted Criminal Injured In Police Encounter In Nayagarh

Nayagarh: Wanted criminal Kabuli Khan was injured in police encounter in Nayagarh district on Sunday night.

Injured Khan was rushed to the district headquarters hospital immediately.

Acting on a tip-off, a special squad of police of the Nayagarh Town Police station intercepted Khan on Solapata-Darapada road. In an attempt to escape, Kabuli opened fire at the police.

As the police retaliated, Khan fell down from his bike after a bullet hit his right leg.

“Police later seized a country-made pistol, four live bullets and a bike from his possession and rushed him to the district headquarters hospital,” Nayagarh SP Ashish Singh said

Police said Khan has over 20 criminal cases pending in different police stations in Nayagarh and the neighbouring districts.
