Bhubaneswar: The special task force (STF) of the Crime Branch on Wednesday arrested a wanted criminal, Sangram Keshari Samantray (28), in connection with a dacoity and murder case.
He is a resident of Dopada village under Ramachandi police limits in Puri district.
According to sources, the STF team conducted raid near Ravi Talkines area in Bhubaneswar and nabbed him.
Notably, he was wanted by the Court of the Additional Sessions Judge, Special Judge, Angul.
Two non-bailable warrants (NBWs) are pending against him in Ramachandi police station.
He was also part of a dreaded inter-district gang involved in hijacking aluminium-laden trucks and murdering drivers to steal the consignment.
He had been evading arrest since 2015. He will be handed over to the inspector-in-charge of Ramachandi police station for further legal action, said the police sources.
