New Delhi: Nick Jonas’s whirlwind tour of Mumbai for Lollapalooza India 2024 ended on a bit of a sour note but not because he was not pampered as a ‘damaad’. He was seen standing aside at the Mumbai airport because his team forgot his tickets.
Nick was in town over the weekend for Lollapalooza India 2024 with the other Jonas brothers – Joe and Kevin. Nick, who is married to Priyanka, was seen flying out of Mumbai on Sunday night. In a video shared by a paparazzo, Nick was seen making his way to board his flight but was stopped by Mumbai airport security. As per the paparazzo, Nick was stopped because his team forgot his tickets.
The singer was forced to stand aside at the airport while his team resolved the issue. The video of the incident had gone viral but is no longer available.
Nick was in Mumbai as part of Jonas Brothers over the weekend to perform for the first time in India. As part of the performance, the Jonas Brothers brought back the Camp Rock era and performed songs from their initial albums before they dived into Sucker and Waffle House. Nick also performed his solo songs, including Close, Jealous and Maan Meri Jaan. For Maan Meri Jaan, Nick invited King, the rapper, to join him. Joe also presented his solo work with DNCE. He performed the songs Toothbrush and Cake By The Ocean, and everyone in the crowd sang along with him.
However, the biggest highlight of the night was Joe introducing Nick as India’s ‘jiju’ which resulted in the crowd chanting ‘jiju’. Nick was visibly blushing but embraced the love and affection. Although Priyanka Chopra couldn’t make it to the performance, she reacted to fans chanting ‘jiju.’ She shared the video of the crowds chanting ‘jiju’ on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “My heart (red heart and teary eyed emojis) Thank you Mumbai.”
