Kutra (Sundargarh): An employee of Scan Steel sustained burn injuries in an explosion in one of the furnaces of the factory on Friday morning.
The accident occurred around 8.20 am at the Gangajal factory in Kutra block of Sundargarh district, informed sources.
The employee who came in contact with fire and hot liquid metals was rushed to Ispat General Hospital in a critical condition. Two others injured were also admitted to hospital.
Fire fighters from Kutra rushed to the factory site and brought the fire under control.
A team of police officers led by Sundargarh SP Sagarika Nath too reached the spot and has started investigation into the incident.
