Rayagada: Four members of a family sustained burn injuries as a bakery caught fire in the district on Thursday.
According to sources, while the fire broke out in the bakery situated at Sikarpai village under Kalyansinghpur block in the evening. Before anybody could notice it, the fire spread to the house adjacent to the bakery. The owner of the bakery and his family stay in the house.
As the fire engulfed the house very fast, the bakery owner’s family could not bring it under control and got injured while trying to douse it. The neighbours and the villagers rushed them to district headquarters hospital.

The bakery owner has sustained critical burn injuries in the incident, hospital sources said. The injured were identified as bakery owner Dayanidhi Behera, his wife and their son and daughter-in-law.
On being informed, police and Fire Brigade rushed to the village to bring the fire under control. The exact cause of the fire could not be ascertained from preliminary investigation.
