Kolkata: Durga Puja is that time of the year when the spirit soars, bringing out the best in everyone — be it celebrities or the common public.
It’s a time to get dressed, catch up with friends and family at puja pandals, eat without inhibition and enjoy to heart’s content.
Bengali actress and MP Mimi Chakraborty reflected the festive spirit admirably as she performed the dhunuchi dance at a puja pandal on Mahanabami.
Mimi took to Instagram to post a video of her doing the dance with other revellers in front of the Goddess.
Wearing a green silk saree, with golden and red border, the pretty actress holds the dhunuchi — a funnel-based earthen pot with an open top – which is filled with strong incense and burning coconut shells and shows great poise in doing the steps to the drum beats even as thick smoke rises from the pot.
Mimi, who has acted in about 30 Bengali films and done TV shows also since making her debut in 2012, is a TMC Member of Parliament from Jadavpur constituency.
