New Delhi: A short clip, showing an Air India plane stuck under a footbridge on the Delhi-Gurugram highway, went viral on social media, leaving passersby and netizens amused alike.
The video showed the nose of the aircraft and half of its body had made it through the bridge before getting stuck near the wings area.
“The aircraft certainly does not belong to the Delhi airport’s fleet and in the video, it is being transported without any wings. It appears to be a scrapped plane and the driver may have made a judgment of error while transporting it,” said an official.
Soon, the national carrier clarified that there was no mishap on the streets or under the footbridge. The aircraft in the video was deregistered and the incident happened when the scrapped plane, which was sold off, was being transported.
“Air India has got no connection whatsoever with the aircraft under any circumstances,” the airlines said in a statement.
However, netizens went berserk cracking jokes on the incident. Sample there:
