Mumbai: Akshay Kumar may be 55, but he still enjoys a massive fan following.
The Bollywood superstar underlined his popularity by setting a world record at a meet-and-greet event with fans here on Wednesday, ahead of the release of his upcoming film ‘Selfiee’.
‘Khiladi’ Akshay clicked as many as 184 selfies in 3 minutes to shatter the Guinness World Record, and expressed gratitude to his fans for their ‘unconditional love’.
In a video posted on Instagram by Akshay, the actor is seen swaying left and right as he clicks selfies on his phone with fans who rush in and out without a moment’s delay.
“Everything I have achieved and where I am in life is due to the unconditional love of my fans. This is my special tribute to them, acknowledging how they have stood by me throughout my career. With the help of my fans, we have broken the Guinness World Record for Most Selfies in 3 minutes 🙂 Thank you everyone. This was very special and I’ll remember this forever. Ab selfies hi selfies hongi. See you all in cinemas on Friday. @trzyinnovationz,” Akshay wrote along with the video and photographs.
“I am ecstatic at breaking this unique World Record and sharing this moment with my fans! Everything that I have achieved so far and where I am at this moment of my life, is due to the unconditional love and support of my fans everywhere. This was my way of paying a special tribute to them, of acknowledging how they have stood by me and my work in my entire career,” Akshay said in an official statement.
Raj Mehta-directed ‘Selfiee’, which also stars Emraan Hashmi, Mrunal Thakur, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha, will hit the screens on February 24.
