Mumbai: Bollywood A-lister Akshay Kumar has finally opened up about the drug nexus that exists in Bollywood.
Months after actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise, Akshay took to his Twitter handle to pour his heart out through a video message.
In the video, the actor has admitted that the problem of drug usage does exist in the film industry, but not everyone is involved.
Speaking about Sushant’s untimely demise, Akki said that a lot of evils that exist in the industry have come to light and he’s hurt after learning about those.
“After the sudden demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, a lot of issues have come to light which pained us as much as they pained you. These issues forced us to look at what is happening in our own backyard. It forced us to look at the evils of the film industry, which needs to be done away with. I cannot lie to you that the problem of drugs does not exist in Bollywood. It definitely does, just like it exists in every industry and profession. However, every person in every industry cannot be involved in it. That’s not possible,” said Akshay.
With folded hands, Akshay said that actors exist because of fans. If fans are unhappy, they will work on the flaws and win their hearts again.
“My message to my fans is, you are the ones who have made us. We will not let you down. If you are upset, we will work harder on our flaws. We will win your trust and love. We exist because of you. Please stand with us. Thank you very much,” said the actor.
