Surat: In a daring heist in broad daylight, robbers stormed into a bank here and looted Rs 14 lakh in next to no time.
Five armed persons arrived on motorcycles at a Bank of Maharashtra branch around 11 am on Friday. They went in and got down to business, carrying out the operation with their helmets on to conceal their identity.
CCTV footage inside and outside the branch captured images of robbers in action.
The robbers are seen pulling out their pistols and pointing them at bank employees and customers.
Before the stunned bank personnel can react, the robbers instruct them to put the money from the counters into their bags.
The customers and employees are ushered into a room by the robbers.
In no time, all five robbers left the branch with nearly Rs 14 lakh cash.

By the time Surat Police Department personnel, including top cops, received information and reached the bank, the robbers were nowhere to be seen.
Surat Police issued a red alert and initiated an elaborate search.
Extensive use of CCTV and mobile surveillance are being used to track down the culprits.
