[Watch] Assaulted by Babushaan’s Wife In Odisha Capital: Actress Prakruti Mishra Moves Police

Bhubaneswar: Actress Prakruti Mishra’s mother Krushna Priya Mishra lodged a complaint with Kharvela Nagar police station after her daughter and Ollywood superstar Babushaan were assaulted by the latter’s wife in full public glare in Odisha’s capital on Saturday.

Rubbishing Babushaan’s wife Trupti’s allegations that Prakruti has “damaged her family life”, renowned music director Manmath Mishra, Prakruti’s father, told a private news channel: “It is an unnecessary reaction based on imagination. Prakruti was on way to Chennai on work. She stays in Mumbai. Because Premam film (starring Babushaan and Prakruti) was released recently, they might have wrongly assumed things. She was discussing with Babushaan about the film. Will actors stop interacting with each other?”

“Without any reason they harassed Prakruti. We have informed the police about it and sought action,” her father told journalists.

Manmath dismissed “rumours” of a relationship between Babushaan and Prakruti. “The matter involves celebrities and there is no truth in such talk,” he told journalists.

Mamath said what happened is unacceptable in civil society. “Such treatment to a girl, especially someone who has struggled and made a mark in Odisha and at the national level is totally unacceptable,” he told reporters. He said Lalit Satpathy (Babushaan’s father-in-law) and Trupti had allegedly hired goons and physically assaulted his daughter. “If there was anything, it could have been discussed indoors,” he said, adding, “I have sought thorough probe into the matter.”

He dismissed Trupti’s allegations against Prakruti of “damaging her family” and termed it as “brahm (delusion)”. “They should talk to Babushaan and deal with their family matter instead of dragging Prakruti into it and assaulting her,” he said.

Prakruti said Trupti has defamed her by assaulting and harassing her in public with the help of some “hooligans”. “I cried for help but no one came forward,” she said.

She said she felt harrassed and humiliated and was “shocked” at the manner in which Trupti assaulted her. “I do not know anything about the goings-on between Babushaan and his wife. I have nothing to do with it.” She added, “I fear no one and will take all legal action.”

Prakruti said she and Babushaan were friends since childhood and unnecessarily her name was being dragged into the latter’s personal life issues.

Babushaan’s wife is seen in the videos that have gone viral on social media stopping a vehicle in which her husband is in the driver’s seat while Prakruti is seen sitting beside him.

Babushaan’s wife Trupti is seen in an agitated state, roughing up the actor and the actress, pulling Prakruti’s hair and even chasing her. Pakruti is seen stepping out of the SUV and moving around the road, folding her hands and trying to possibly hire an autorickshaw.

Trupti is heard accusing Prakruti of “destroying her family life” and “trying to snatch away her husband”. Prakruti is heard saying, “She (Trupti) has gone mad.”
