Sambalpur: For the first time, tourists will be able to enjoy the exotic landscape of western Odisha during the second Eco Retreat Festival. The festival will kick off on December 1 at Jamadarpalli, near the Hirakud reservoir, in Sambalpur district.
The state tourism department has put up 25 premium Swiss Cottage tents, air-conditioned restaurants, bars and reception rooms at the festival site for tourists.

They can also enjoy ropeway ride, cycle ride, a jungle safari in Debrigarh sanctuary, banana ride, jet ski and rifle shooting during the festival which will conclude on February 28.
State Tourism Director Sachin Ramachandra Yadav, who visited Sambalpur on November 8 to oversee preparations, said that the festival will be held with strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.
The state government has decided to go ahead with the second Eco Retreat Festival to boost the Tourism sector, which was badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival will also help in improving livelihoods of people by doing business at the tourist destinations.
