Lucknow: In dramatic and bizarre scenes, Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Awadhesh Prasad was seen breaking down, weeping and wailing during a press conference in Ayodhya.
Awadhesh, the Lok Sabha MP from Faizabad constituency, which includes Ayodhya, was upset following the murder of a Dalit woman in the temple town.
After the body of a naked woman was found in a desolate canal near her village in Ayodhya, her family alleged that their daughter, who had been missing, was murdered, PTI reported.
They also claimed that her eyes were missing and that her body had deep wounds and fractures.
Awadhesh, who had called a press conference, expressed his grief and anguish in front of reporters and TV cameras.
He weeps, lamenting that he couldn’t save the life of the woman. “What will history say? HAs ow did this happen to the girl?” he says even as he is hardly audible amid the sobbing and wailing.
His party colleagues try to calm him down, but Awadhesh goes on, “Let me to go Delhi, to Lok Sabha. I will keep the matter in front of (PM) Modi and if we don’t get justice, then I will resign.”
“Where are you Lord Ram, where are you mother Sita?” he is heard saying.
Those sitting next to him again try to console him, saying Awadhesh can’t resign, he has to get justice for the deceased, but the MP continues sobbing and wailing.
