Bhubaneswar: Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M Scindia on Tuesday flagged off direct flight service between Bhubaneswar and Jaipur in virtual mode.
IndiGo airline will operate three flights in a week – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday – on his route.
Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Dharmendra Pradhan were present on the occasion.
To strengthen air connectivity and boost tourism, the Odisha government has extended the initial incentive to the airline for commencement of the flight operation. It will provide Rs 75,000 per round trip to the airliner.

Notably, Dharmendra on September 17 had written to Scindia seeking his intervention to commence flight services between the two cities.
Announcing direct flight between Bhubaneswar and Jaipur from November 2, Scindia on October 16 responded, “I hope that the connectivity between Temple City Bhubaneswar and Pink City Jaipur would not only enhance tourist footfall but would also provide a boost to economic activities in both the states.”
