Bhubaneswar: Odisha is gearing up to host another Hockey World Cup.

With less than eight months to go for the 2023 FIH Men’s World Cup, preparations at the two venues – Bhubaneswar and Rourkela – are in full swing.

The Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium – the biggest hockey facility in India — is being constructed in Rourkela.

The Kalinga Stadium in the state’s capital, on the other hand, is getting a

facelift ahead of the mega event.

Work is underway to lay a brand new astroturf at the magnificent complex in Bhubaneswar. The old synthetic turf was removed at Kalinga Stadium last month

Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled the 2023 World Cup logo last month at an event held at the Kalinga Stadium.

The tournament will be held from January 13-29, 2023.

The Kalinga Stadium had hosted the 2018 FIH Men’s World Cup as well as the FIH Junior World Cup hockey meet last year.
