Mumbai: A life-size statue of Amitabh Bachchan, installed by an Indian-American businessman outside his New Jersey home, has been recognised as a tourist attraction on Google Maps. It’s a one-of-a-kind recognition by Google Maps.
The statue of the Bollywood legend was installed in August 2022 by Gopi Seth, one of his diehard fans, reported PTI.
Seth shared a video of the statue on his X handle.
“The statue of my idol, Shri Amitabh Bachchan has become a popular tourist attraction in New Jersey. It’s my way of paying tribute to the legendary actor,” he captioned the post.

Located in Edison, about 35 kilometres south of Manhattan, the statue has attracted fans of the iconic actor over the past year or so.
So much so that Seth’s residence has transformed into a bustling hub for visitors, with a steady storm of 20 to 25 cars arriving daily.
“Fans of Mr Bachchan from all around the world travel to see the statue, with many families visiting each day,” Seth told PTI.
And he is only too glad to welcome them.
“Our home stands as a testament to Mr Bachchan’s global appeal, and we are honoured to welcome fans from every corner of the globe,” Seth remarked.
Several visitors leave greeting cards and letters, expressing their admiration for the 81-year-old actor.
“Enthusiastic fans post videos, photos, and tweets about their experiences, flooding social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. These posts have boosted the statue’s popularity,” Seth said.
