Bhubaneswar: Amid restrictions on the celebration of festivals in public places, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary on Tuesday said that offering and events at temples in the Odisha capital will not be allowed on Pana Sankranti.
“The priests will conduct the rituals and any type of celebration and pana distribution will not be allowed in public places,” he said.
On Ramzan, the commissioner said that they had a discussion with the stakeholders and guidelines will be issued in consultation with them to conduct the Friday prayers in accordance with the safety protocols. “Congregations within the mosque or outside for Namaz during this month will be restricted to 100 persons or 50 per cent of hall capacity for maintaining social distancing,” he said.
