Bhubaneswar: A video of Republic Day wishes by BSF showing a jawan speaking in Telugu from Malkangiri district of Odisha has sparked resentment among the Odias.
The 2.11-minute video shows BSF personnel in services uniform wishing the people on Republic Day at locations and border posts of different states.
The video starts with two women personnel speaking from Meghalaya and continues with messages from Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Odisha, Assam, Jammu, Kashmir and West Bengal.
While all the personnel are found wishing in the local languages of respective states, the jawan from Malkangiri speaks in Telugu language.
The video has been posted along with a message in social media platform Twitter. “On the eve of Republic Day 2022, from our far-flung deployments, Seema Praharis wish every Indian a Happy Republic Day 2022. It is an honour to serve & protect the nation even to the peril of our lives,” the post said.
