Bhubaneswar: The Deputy Director of Nandankanan Zoological Park near Bhubaneswar has ordered a probe into the clash between a group of tourists from Chhattisgarh and employees of the zoo safari on Sunday that left several people injured from both sides.
Deputy Director Sanjeet Kumar has asked the range security officer to submit a report.
Three safari staffers of the zoo have been arrested over the incident, informed Kumar.
The clash took place between safari staff and a group of 27 tourists from Chhattisgarh.
The tourists alleged the staff refused to take them on the popular safari ride although they had booked tickets. This led to a heated exchange of words between both sides. When they protested, the safari staff beat them up, the tourists alleged.
The safari staff alleged that the tourists created a ruckus after they were refused tickets as it was closing time for the tiger safari ride.
Both sides have filed separate FIRs.
