[Watch] Cloudburst In Nainital District, Several Feared Trapped

Nainital: Several people are feared trapped under debris following a cloudburst at a village in Ramgarh of Nainital district in Uttarakhand.

Rescue operations are underway.

Nainital SSP Preeti Priyadarshini told the media that some injured have been rescued from the spot but their actual number is yet to be ascertained.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to enquire about the situation in the hill state.

Six persons have died due to landslides in Uttarakhand while 230 villages have plunged into darkness due to torrential rain since Sunday.

Water from the Naini Lake has been overflowing and has flooded the streets, including the iconic Mall Road, and entered the building and houses,
