New Delhi: The Congress is hosting a rally against alleged vote theft or ‘vote chori’ at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday (December 14). With the party’s top leadership—including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and LoP chief Rahul Gandhi—is likely to address the gathering, the party seeks to hold the government and the Election Commission of India (ECI) accountable for what it claims to be “collusion to manipulate elections”.
Senior leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, K.C. Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh and Sachin Pilot, will also participate, reported the Hindu. The report further claims that former Congress president Sonia Gandhi is likely to be present.
Party leaders are likely to gather at the Congress headquarters, Indira Bhawan, before proceeding to Ramlila Maidan.

Meanwhile, the BJP has launched a scathing attack on the Congress over the rally. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra reportedly alleged that instances of “vote theft” took place during the Congress’s 70 years in power. The saffron party has also alleged that the rally was an attempt to divert attention from the party’s poll debacles.
