Cuttack: A young engineering student has invented a smart mirror that will obey multiple commands such as switching a ceiling fan on or running an air-conditioner in addition to providing important news and changing the colour of bulbs of your choice.
Just a voice command will do the miracle.
Swadhin Das, a final year student of Bhubananada Engineering School at Cuttack, has discovered the smart mirror during the Covid-19 shutdown period, much to the astonishment of his classmates and teachers. Inventor Swadhin Das hopes to improve upon the device provided he gets the support of the government and other sponsors.
“The smart mirror, comprising a mirror, a plyboard and a few electrical devices, will respond to voice commands and it can operate with electricity and battery as well,” claimed Das.
Moreover, the device is capable of providing weather inputs, crucial dates and Red Letter Days on a calendar, play music and display television channels and shows` among others to the entertainment of students and teachers.
“Das’ ingenuity and innovation have drawn the attention of the district and state administration as well,” said Gyan Ranjan Ray, Principal of the Bose Engineering Schoo.
Such engineering marvel will attract kudos from national and international quarters, Ray hoped.
