But Indians felt proud when their Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone walked out to the ground ahead of the final between Argentina and France.
The glittering World Cup trophy, which arrived at Lusail Stadium in a specially commissioned Louis Vuitton trunk, was escorted to the ground by Deepika and Spanish World Cup winner Iker Casillas.
In a memorable moment, Deepika, brand ambassador of French brand Louis Vuitton, unveiled the FIFA World Cup trophy with Casillas.
The FIFA World Cup trophy travel case weighs 6.175 kg and is made of 18-carat gold and malachite. It is designed to protect and transport the FIFA World Cup trophy.
