Mumbai: Deepika Padukone has spoken about the bout of depression which had hit her in 2014. She opened up once again during an appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 13, as host Amitabh Bachchan listened.
The Bollywood queen, along with actor-producer-choreographer Farah Khan appeared as celebrity guests on Friday’s episode of KBC 13.
shared by Sony Entertainment Television, Amitabh explained that celebrity guests come on the show to win prize money for a cause. He asked Deepika what she was playing for.
“Sir, in 2014, I had depression. I subsequently set up a mental health organisation, through which we try to de-stigmatise mental illness and create awareness about mental health,” Deepika tells Amitabh in a video shared by Sony Entertainment Television which airs the popular game show.
“I didn’t feel like going to work, I didn’t feel like meeting anybody… I didn’t go out… I didn’t feel like doing anything. Many times, I don’t know if I should say this, but I didn’t feel like living anymore,” Deepika continued.

Farah said she had no idea what Deepika was going through at that time even though they were working on the film Happy New Year then.
Farah said that she was playing to win in KBC for a 17-month-old child named Ayaansh. He is suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and requires an injection that costs Rs 16 crore, Farah informed following which Big B offered to make a personal donation towards the cause.
