New Delhi: A powerful dust storm swept across Delhi and NRC regions late on Monday, prompting authorities to issue advisory.
Earlier in the day, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a alert for thunderstorm and squall with winds gusting up to 50-70 km per hour in several north Indian states.
Following the warning, Delhi government and Delhi traffic police also issued safety directives and advised residents to stay indoors, besides exercising maximum caution if outside.
Evening schools in Delhi will remain shut on Tuesday. Haryana had already announced school holidays for the first two days of the week.
