Bhubaneswar: Dutee Chand has had an eventful life and career in athletics.
A new dimension will be added as she appears on the Family Episode of reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 10’ on Colors TV this weekend.
In a video clip shared on Instagram by Colors TV, the ace sprinter from Odisha is seen dancing to the tune of the popular number ‘Dhaakad’, from the film Dangal, with her choreographer Ravina.
“I’ve never danced in my life.. It was a lot of fun. It’s been 20 years in sports for me, competed in 2 Olympics from Odisha… I won the World University gold and broke my record 10 times,” she said.
Celebrity judges Madhuri Dixit and Karan Johar are absolutely floored by Dutee’s dance, and are seen giving her a standing ovation.
Facing Bollywood diva Madhuri, Dutee says, “I never met you before but saw several dance numbers.. I thought I’d never be able to dance like you,”. Madhuri is quick to retort: “And I can never run like you.”
Filmmaker and producer Karan salutes Dutee for her performance.
“I’m feeling so proud that you’ve become a part of this family here.. This for me is the most proud moment for Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, I salute you,” says Karan.
Dutee, national champion in women’s 100m, competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics as well as in the Tokyo Games last year. She recently represented India in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
In 2019, she became India’s first athlete to publicly stated that she is in a same-sex relationship.
