Malkangiri: Family members of a female coronavirus patient created a ruckus after she passed away at a COVID hospital in Malkangiri district on Friday.
Police personnel calmed down the agitating relatives and brought the situation under control.
Ironically, the incident took place a day after the Malkangiri district administration introduced E-Sakhyat Seva (video interaction), through which COVID-positive patients can talk directly with their relatives.
Not just general wards, non-critical patients in ICU too can interact with their family members.
Relatives of the deceased female patient complained that she died because of lack of proper treatment and gheraoed the district Chief Medical Officer’s office, before police intervened.
The last rites of the woman was performed adhering to COVID protocols later in the day.
