Malkangiri: Even as the Odisha government is taking all possible measures to prevent spread of COVID-19, a Block Education Officer (BEO) has been found participating in a celebration without following the preventive guidelines.
In a video that has gone viral in the social media, Kudumulugumma BEO Gayatri Devi along with some unidentified persons has been found dancing to the tune of Sambalpuri folk songs in a programme.
Though the exact date of the programme has not been ascertained, sources said it was organised at the guest house of Poteru irrigation project in Balimela of the district during lockdown in the second wave of the pandemic.
While none of the persons participating in the dance is found wearing face masks in the video, the guideline of maintaining social distancing has gone for a toss.
The video on violation of COVID by the government official has triggered sharp reactions from the viewers.
The BEO did not respond despite repeated attempts to contact her for her reaction on the video.
