Mumbai: The much-awaited trailer of Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film ‘Dil Bechara’ is out.

The film, which is an adaptation of Hollywood’s popular ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, has newcomer Sanjana Sanghi as the co-lead. It has been directed by Mukesh Chhabra.

Sharing a poster from the film, he wrote, “Sushant was not just the hero of my debut film as a director but he was a dear friend who stood by me through thick and thin. We had been close right from Kai Po Che to Dil Bechara. He had promised me that he would be in my first film. So many plans were made together, so many dreams were dreamt together but never once did I ever imagine that I would be releasing this film without him.”

The two-minute official trailer also elicited an emotional response among social media users.

‘Dil Bechara’ will be released on Hotstar on July 24.

Like the Hollywood version, the trailer starts with Sanjana narrating her battle with cancer which is followed by a ray of hope and love in the form of Sushant’s character who enters her life.

The trailer ends and begins with the message – ‘love gives hope… love makes our life okay’. In the trailer, Sushant says to Sanjana, “Janam kab lena hai aur marna kab hai, hum decide nahi kar sakte, par kaise jeena hai, wo hum decide kar sakte hain.”

Touched an emotional cord, didn’t it?
